meet me in Savannah

meet me in Savannah

A Poem by cellardork

Meet me in Savannah

Darlin I beg you please

Meet me in the morning sun

Under the willow trees.

Beneath branches draped with moss

Ill be waiting patiently

To make up the time we've lost.

To make love beside the sea.

Meet me on the white sand shores

Like the seashells that line the dunes.

Together we can chase the tide

Darlin please get here soon.

I'm waiting on the wooden steps

That leads up to our place

Where the windows are kept open

Built high to keep us safe.

So while the wind is blowing

And the storm is at it's worse

We can hide under crisp white sheets

Hide from all the hurt.

Wait for the sun with me darlin

Play those worn ivory keys

While the rain hits our old tin roof

your the music that guides me to sleep.

Meet me in Savannah

I know we've never been

But it's where I go to see you

When my faith is worn and thin.

Come to the old familiar places

That we have never seen

Join me in savannah darlin

Meet me in my dreams.

I especially liked the ending of this one, the last stanza really captured me.

Well done :)

Another wonderful poem! I especially like the meter -- it's practically a lyric!

However, I think this one too, needs to be broken down into stanzas. They're are a couple of minor typos that I'm sure you'll find if you give another read through.
