I Can't Love You

I Can't Love You

A Poem by KatharineDishron

Always on my mind

I want you

But I hesitate

I’ve never been with you

I care what people think

I love who you are

I knew you right away

It was as fluid as soda

Sipped on a sunny day

I know this won’t work

You know it, too

I love who you are

But I would leave you

I’m too f*****g scared

I’ve never breathed this air

Your cheek as smooth as mine

As I kiss you a second time

You don’t move your hands

I don’t feel the pressure

Your mind is in your heart

I don’t feel the pressure.

But I won’t let go

I won’t let people know.

This piece puts to images in my mind. One of someone taking a hit off of a water bong, and the other of the first fearful steps in a new relationship. I really liked the descriptiveness in the stanzas, they gave us a glimpse while making us form our own more solid images of what's going on.

Great Ink!

Very descriptive of your experience. Do you jump or stay quite?
