To Move Heaven and Earth
I have been finding that I become overwhelmed by the happenings and anxiety of the things of this life. A little while ago after pondering this state of affairs it seemed the Holy Spirit spoke to my mind the phrase; “move heaven and earth.” Yea, I sure can’t. Then I realized. That is God’s business. He moves heaven and earth according to His own will. This took a great weight off of my mind and heart. Underneath my struggle was the feeling that my life is insignificant. Many would like to be affirmed, heard or to have a voice in this world. It seems a harmless enough thing. Or is it? Finding a place of service to the Lord Jesus Christ is best given from a pure heart which desires God’s own will not mine. Of course our creator gives each of us unique traits and characteristics within our own make up. So we can seek the Lord’s will in these desires. Our faith within Christ is where the desire to serve finds it’s out working. Proverb’s 3:5-6, KJV Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy Path. Can seeking one’s own way in ministry become an idol? What is one’s motivation? Is it to glorify God totally or to be glorified in the eyes of others and/or oneself? God’s Word is our guidebook. Colossians 3:23-25 KJV says, And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ. Say for instance in our daily lives; duties, work and even in recreation. How do we show that Christ is our center point? Is it affirming to our lives as Christians? As the saying goes; what would Jesus do what would Jesus say? I guess the main thread in the life of a Jesus follower is practicing the gift of holiness from the inside out. Our very lives is where Jesus chooses to reveal Himself to us and sometimes even through us. Proverbs 17:8, KJV A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth. 1 Peter 15:16-17 KJV says but as he who hath called you is holy so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Because as it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy. So as we trust that our lives are important to the Lord Jesus even as we get older. I have looked about and seen the beauty of the young and then realized that our hearts are important to the Lord. In Titus 2:5 it says: Not by works of righteousness which we done but by His mercy He saved us. Oh I really like that. So what is the verdict? The Lord knows the beginning and ending of this life…all of our lives. We are so blessed to Have God’s word to guide us. He has the big and the little things. It is so good to know our Holy God has and always will move heaven and earth and He will help me do my little part. Praise the Lord! © 2023 Kathy Van KurinReviews
