Alone At LastA Poem by Kathy Van KurinAlone but for the real.Alone
at last Heavens
screen projects passing crimson blush. Last light of day tie dyes the heavens. My earthly
seat has become sacred. These eyes absorb design’s finesse. Crystal
dome spreads itself an expanse of stained glass glory. Earth
heart beats in rhythm with mine. Pond nearby is marsh frog choir in low
refrain. Mallards
begin unique chorus known only to them then silence. I wait for more. Ducks
rise catching the wind. Nature’s
glory catches a whistling in their wings.
I’ve been lonely for this solitude this water to
my barren soul. Did I know I was thirsty? Inner
need of strength as peace drenches my being. One
more whistle of presence signals itself through the air. Solitude
is my companion as the mystery of the unknown speaks. I feel
the message unspoken by human words. This
soul the sacred space, the gift. © 2023 Kathy Van KurinAuthor's Note
