The Spirit does not lie

The Spirit does not lie

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

What stirs the soul of man?

"

The Spirit does not lie.

East wind creases liquid surface setting a chill to my bones.

The spirit does not lie nor water, in ripples of living pattern.

Cold solitude Snow companion presents itself. I am not alone.

Barely cold just a day ago North wind presence has its turn.

Holy Spirit presence my covering as Tiny song birds skitter the ground.

Beyond bare cane black berry hedge, trees strong and tall embrace the sky.

Mortal eyes survey emerald vista masterpiece whilst I wear a crochet crown.

These hands have scattered winter bird seed. Do the birds know it was I?

Brief season of wonder is held elastic within these moments stretching.

A great banquet hall is their destination; ‘Here at Marshland Border.”

’Tweeting, singing, humming, warbling; their calls signal “come and partake!

Feathered orchestra serenade, Intricate Melody, I am allowed a seat of grandeur.

wow. so precious and deep. god speaks to us and dwells with us through the miraculous gift of soulful nature. not anything you can buy at wal mart or amazon. great food for thought ... :)

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:26-27

Absolutely beautiful and spirit-filled poem Kathy. Every exquisite line is filled with faith and incredible imagery. Did the birds know it was you? Absolutely, thankfully, yes. God bless.

A beautiful picture and message. As I write this I am watching iridescent blue humming birds, painted buntings and toucans as they come by the palms outside. I love birds and I loved your poem.

This was great. Is provision given for recognition or to sustain? If we seek only to sustain does recognition then have any value in our accomplishment? Love is without condition and love provides. So love that seeks recognition may fall suspect in its motives but love that receives recognition may grow as beautiful as a flower in sunlight. To freely give and freely receive then, seems the proper decorum. Now that you have provided the seed, enjoy the song and show.

dearest Kathy… “wearing a Crochet Crown”… Inoften wonder if our feathered friends are aware of who leaves the delicious Seed with blueberries and raspberries for special Occasions. I notice that they are aware of being observed when Dinner is Served. 💗 Love your Poetry as it is a Neon Light of Dinner with a Show and dancing feet upon a budding Tree. gently, Pat
