Not seen but still real

The extravagance of moments gone running into a stream of gold- those continuing into future realities.

Not seen but still real

 

Light casts a shadow and is caught.

Shade ponders our impermanence.

We may feel inadequate as a shadow.

Light and dark push against one another.

Contrasts need tension to be real.

We are shades within this life palette.

Wake up call, be aware, appreciate

Any opportunity to leave our mark,

Any shadow in this world.

Are we light or are we a shadow?

Sometimes just being a shadow,

A witness to another’s light is enough.

In this cycle of repeated opportunities

We walk and struggle through rooms,

Through seasons of light and shadow.

For now, till then.

Oh, the tremendous blessing of struggle.

We are alive to cry, to exalt in these times

Of light and dark, of life.

Let us ponder this year not yet known.

We have lived, we live still.

Hi Jacob. Love to receive your input here. Yes every day we live is a another to learn and think and just be. Your phrase, "see another's light and to be another's light..." is a very packed thought. Our days our jammed with the influences between our personal lives and that of family and freind's as well. We really are not isolated all though we may try to be sometimes. Thanks for the reminder.

Loneliness is an innate human condition. Every human on this planet feels alone at some time, even if surrounded by other humans. They feel like they are an entity unto themselves and thus, to a certain extent, masters of their individual destinies but I believe nothing could be further from the truth. If we walk with God, God walks with us and we find peace, comfort and company... a true and lasting relationship with our Creator that even death cannot threaten. I'm not certain that it is so simple but I believe God has worked out the details to make it so and I accept that on simple faith. Blessings to you, my friend. Peace, love and light, F.

The future really is a strange reality, ongoing like the days that pass by.
Humans are flexible, need to be as the world changes around us. The coronavirus shows us that as humans we are not indestructible and this on its own maybe a wake up call for all of us.

In the light of the coronovirus situation now we must all be aware that great shadow is threatening our light. As Leonard Cohen sings "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in", so i think all we can do is keep looking for the light to break through the shadows .... love this poem .... it's one that makes you think!

Live in moderation of life and health. Remain calm and think clearly. Do a little research and find the truth in this situation. No hair on fire and no frenzied fear. I know that the essence of the human soul can be susceptible to the professions of media. Just be careful but keep living, loving, creating.

I think most of us live our lives in shade while a few find the comet's flare. There aren:t many of us who will be remembered years after our passing. However if we can be the light in another person's life, then that is beyond compare. Shade and light, such contrast. Each new year is something to look forward to. It is a time for hope and a time for new beginnings. A time when each one of us can make a difference. Beautiful poem Kathy.
