Bijou

Bijou

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

Imagination pulling at inspiration

"

Jewel-Bijou (French)

A symphony  of  color to autumn

Harp Strains of winds, September has trailed away.

Minutes daily diminish- Sweet sunlight golden rays.

Precious longing pulls my soul for October’s lullaby.

Emerald Fir trees in full sway, Lift to pewter sky.

A stretching streamer necklace Festoons my maple tree.

In lilting triad note Garnet Lutes arrive.

Royal banners wave in Topaz. And Chartreuse

Earth’s heart beat rumbles

-To the Thrum of Kettle drums.

Trumpets from a distance announce royal colors.

Gold, Carnelian and Alabaster

Leaves tumble in profusion

Jasper, Opal, Citrine

Trees clap exaltation

Amethyst, Turquoise, Sapphire

Curtain falls

 in a gauze

of

diamond and peridot raindrops.

Standing ovation,

 a final, jewel finale

dearest Kathy... here we are... a year later...
richer for discovering that there is still wisdom and beauty in Nature.
Your poetry still lingers in my Soul... where seasons bring a change of Emotion.
We may have grown in knowledge and self-revelation... and yet Nature remains
our Calendar of Events with a year spent surviving and mourning our loss of
loved ones the World over. September 2021 is a Month of high winds with flooding
and fires. A time to read poetry and believe in Blessings. gently, Pat

Kathy, your gentle quill has penned a treasure of memories... I have written in

and somehow I know she has played your words this lovely celestial Autumn song.

You are welcome dear Kathy and I love your work.
Gorgeous poetry indeed. You must live in a magical place to inspire all of this. Your observations are stretching beautifully our imaginations to be and to enjoy. Seasons bring changes to our lives and landscapes. They sever the monotony and endeavor on new meanings. They touch us deeply in the great scheme of things. Autumn is magical whether in abounding colors or abiding hopes.

If anyone who lives where it is pretty much always warm wants to know what it is like to experience a change in seasons, I would suggest they read this delightful poem. The sense of colour and movement of trees in the autumn wind jumps out at me.
Autumn is a time of year I have always favoured ... crisp air ... brilliant colours ... cool nights and warm days ... and it doesn't hurt that my birthday falls very late in the season.

Well written Kathy.
