Beautiful Cleansing

Beautiful Cleansing

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

Lessons within tears and pain

"

Beautiful cleansing

How beautiful grief’s cleansing,

Tears from deep sorrow.

But where do these soul drops come,

This great weeping?

God you are more spacious then deep blue of sky’s expanse.

A great storehouse is this Blanket cocoon of our Great Creator’s earth.

How beautiful; human depths filled with new understanding.

Will our own life song claim beautiful lessons within our tears?

Our tears are yours Holy God;

We can only cry as little children

-

  In times of helplessness, we are as little lambs.

You hold us and our hearts.

We are yours after all; for nothing is hidden from your knowledge.

As the psalmist says darkness and light are both alike to thee.

Psalm 139:12 Yea, the darkness hides not from thee;

But the night shines as the day:

 The darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

You are our place of rest and safety in every place of pain as well as joy.

Your poem explains better than I even knew myself, the reasons why I would rather share my woes with God than with humans. There's something perfectly non-judgemental that you've detailed with life observations as well as scripture, very convincingly. Sometimes we just need a shoulder to cry on & this can be very cleansing, without someone trying to fix me! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

simply beautiful ..reads as a prayer and as thankful praise of our Creator God ... a personal loving God ... who can not be delved by human intellect .. but only by a child like heart and intention .. thank you so much for sharing this intimate one on one ... a child with Heavenly Father .. worth reading every morning .. i especially like how your poem deals with darkness ... it can seem so very frightful .. but the truth is that it has no sting ;) great stuff form me this morning ... going to try and take it with me through the day

Right on..so true!
If only those tears could cleanse the world we live in.
But maybe that's being disingenuous to all the good in the world that doesn't get highlighted.
But I like the idea of God looking out for us. Makes the journey that mite easier.

You are welcome dear Kathy.
I'm sure tears are indeed cleansing to the soul in times of deep sorrow. God hears us in these times though it may not seem like it. We all need something to believe in.
