An interesting structure to this poem. I would guess you based the structure on some type syllable count?
Regardless, it is a fun and interesting poem, even for one like me who doesn't like clams or clam chowder.
(It's the brine taste I don't like - I have the same problem with fatty fish, that oil taste I don't like)

Not sure if I've ever tasted Clam Chowder. Mind you I do tend to put sauce on everything, including ice cream. Only kidding, maybe not ice cream.
So are you going back to your childhood with this picnic?
I must have been your flower guest, lol. They tend to get me sneezing.
Brought you Champagne to wash the picnic down.

Hmmm...champagne would be lovely I think. Flowers are something wonderful. I love to grow them and them have them inside. My main clam chowder is the creamy kind and I like to put in potatoes too. Bless your heart for coming by and I hope I did not cause you to much sneezing...

Kathy, you have made me hungry for Clam Choder, and I haven't even had the pleasure of tasting it yet. It sure seems as though it's food for the soul, and I do like to feed my soul. I love the sound of lunch together and with good company. I'm on my way. Home made is so good.

I hope today is lovely for you seeings it is Valentine's day. This writing I did was not so deep as I usually have a tendency to do. In fact it was something I wrote two years ago just for fun. I love your review. Even needing sleep and with a lot on your plate you find time to read and think. I like that. I guess finding time for something to give ourselves nourishment that is a treat can be brought into play as well.
Blessings

I love clam chowder. Hard to find homemade clam chowder in Michigan. I enjoyed your story in the poem dear Kathy. One day I will visit places like Maine. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry. I did enjoy this one.

Your are so right on. It's nice to have something we like. What is it about thick, creamy, delicious soup on a cold, winter day with a windy cold overcast sky of grey? I know that clam chowder does it for me. Till I get tired of it and want some other kind...ha ha.
Thanks for your fun comments and nice presence here.
Blessings,
Kathy
A very tasty dish for a get together dinner. Something quick and easy to make perhaps. I do love soup and sald to go with it in general. In the South here, they like chilli and gumbo more...
So, should we call you chef Kathy now???

Hmmmmmmmmmmm!!! CLAM CHOWDER...does it get any better? Of course there is the debate of New England clam chowder (sounds like yours) or Manhattan clam chowder...and then of course there is Conch chowder in a bread bowl eaten at a little diner on the beach in St.Kitts.
I'll take all three.
