May Holds Her Breath

May Holds Her Breath

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin

May Holds Her Breath

May holds her breath

 for every fragrant honor.

Our God speaks of heaven

 in His glorious spring.

Every newly hatched song bird,

 blossom and tree bouquet-

Speaks to glorious position

Prism upon prism, design upon design.

Great honor of love.

Our ability is God Almighty’s

 to shine-

Just like May days of planting

and bird nest graces.

I always love to see God & nature woven together like best friends & that's what you've done here expertly! I love the title, which drew me in becuz our springtime has been very sporadic this year. I love the way you use familiar descriptions of springtime that are crafted in an original way! Much spring sweetness & blessings to you, my friend (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

This is like a beautiful, lifting psalm of life. I sense this in the spring, this awakening from death to life. How I long to linger in those gardens that spring with endless life. Everything then is so full of joy... every petal... of song... Wondrous blessings all!

What a beautiful title for a poem Kathy. Yes spring has arrived and how wonderful it is too. As I write I am listening to the sweet song of blackbirds in my garden. My silver birch is in early new leaf and bluebells are in the borders. You have written a lovely poem to honour spring and the gift of it from our Maker. Nicely done. Thank you

Amazing title and poem celebrating God’s inspiration in Nature and in our lives. So many levels of imagery and praise in your eloquent words for all of the manifestations of Divine design at work. Kathy, you express so well how we, like the birds and flowers of Spring, shine for our Creator. Thank you for this inspiring and uplifting work dear Kathy.

Nature certainly inspires a love of God. Especially the month of May, as it can be thought of symbolically as 'rebirth'. (Well, that is Spring in the West) I love the way you attribute the new growth of trees, and the birds nest, to the grace of God. It is truly lovely when we see God in nature ... but we must also bear in mind the 'destructive' side of nature.
