Spring

Spring

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

We inhale and exhale within the every breath of creation.

"

Spring

Soft curling breezes, daylight ebbs; silver glowing illuminates the western sky.

With its own bright whistle, a single tiny song bird calls out rejoicing in this day’s sunshine beauty.

Its twilight essence is now drawing to a close. This waning warmth, is soon to be happy memory of gracious stirring.

It lifts a gracious whirlwind that simply dissipates a gentle breath into surrounding tall trees and woods alike.

In sweet release, my heart is comforted.

Peace comes in inner contemplation, of creation’s reality. My very being rests.

Solitude is my personal welcomed guest.

Soft April breezes lift themselves swaying upward into every tree; branches and leaves simply yield.

This gift to my heart and soul is nature’s spacious hum, playing its own composition within nature’s harmony.

Shadows gradually descend, as the sun fades; bringing Heavenly lacework of silver- silhouette- splendor above.

A renewed rise of wind is released a-fresh and held within forest trees.

Twilight surges. Rifts of air play; circling, dancing.

Birds with newly acquired mates and unmatched juveniles,

midst this woods marshland treasure, sing out their final passionate calls.

Lovely feathered orchestra echo and repeat to one another their music which Creator God composed within every cooling shadow.

See the trees sway together; within the brush of every branch, twig and leaf?

In peace, early night; winds rise and slowly fall.

Perched among silhouette branches; tiny jewels, each feathered treasure; add there perfect closing accompaniment.

Spread thicket- of Cottonwood- Aspen- Fir, willow and Oak; their Spires tall to the skies receive one last dusting;

like sugars of light over their tree tops.

In hushed voice of twilight; one last breeze twirls

and the Red Winged blackbird, calls out to its mate, “Good night.”

I frequently walk just to afford myself the opportunity of taking pictures of nature and whatever else that comes into view. Spring gives us such a bountiful landscape, from which you so eloquently put into words here, Kathy.
