I agree, being told a story is a great delight, especially when loving the sound of another's voice in particular. It's too bad we seem to have lost the art of verbal storytelling . . . nowadays it seems to be mostly ranting or other drama. Your poem brings back gentle times of sharing . . . good use of bright imagery & the last line is one we all wish we'd written! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It was special and it needed to be shared mostly for me to remember and revisit the experience. I suppose that is partly what writing can do. These lines tell of what really matters. So often we become lost in the rush and bustle of today's material world and forget to count our blessings.
Gentle and wise.

Beautiful and hopeful words dear Kathy.
"we are writing a song together, we sing.
I know we are blessed. Together we cling.
You are my color, refreshing love every day.
Morning Prayer waking; Oh God hold him near."
I loved the above lines. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Just by giving a part of your day and reading-commenting you are a bit of sunshine to my spirit. This poem was all about the reality of inner reality being made real in the context of a story shared within a life story lived.
Closeness to others: friends, family, spouse, and most of all for me, to God is where I find focus in each part of my life story.
Thanks again for your own kind sharing and input about this part of my poem, it always is so nice to hear from you.
Blessings,
Kathy

......wow. This is grand. Very poetic with some very juicy lines, and the final line puts it over the top! Stanza 2 Line 2 could have an "as" inserted between the two clauses so the musicality flows better (and also it sounds more like a nostalgic reminder rather than a reminder to the forgetful). A similar note to Stanza 4 Line 3 (but rather than add, the musicality of the poem would flow much smoother were "ev'ry" to become "each"). This is otherwise fantastic! Well done! (p.s. "moments bowl" needs an apostrophe to clarify what that means) :)

Life is full of good and bad, sad and glad.. but to have true, loyal love at any and all times, makes life glow. And that is what your words do, Kathy, they glow with love given and love shared. Beautifully said.

I love that you read this poem as it is very dear to me. I also believe that you have every bit of ability to do anything you set your mind to. Thank you so much for coming by and reading this. It is so wonderful to hear from you and to read your input and opinion.
I wish you every blessing!

I enjoyed your idea of sharing a story in a real sense with your husband, listening to him read and tell you a story; while also understanding that together you are writing your own story of a lifetime.
In this day and fast paced age where love is used and abused and discarded on a whim, these moments of which you have written are becoming rarer with every passing year. Embrace what you share. Keep your story going. For others are not so blessed with the kind of love you have.
A very nice write. Simple but very heartfelt and tender.

I am grateful for my husband; no doubt about it. He actually makes up stories sometimes and just narrates from himself. The images in Story's Jar were actually part of this night's narrative he imparted to my tired soul.
You are so right; so many are lonely. We all can try to love others and be aware.
I appreciate your coming by and giving honest and thoughtful insight.
Bless you.
