People in all walks of life suffer and need help one way or another. Some with comfort, some with material assistance and others with guidance. The legitimate homeless or refugees are victims of many reasons. We need to be compassionate even if they are less fortunate or down on their chances. A very complex subject and heart-wrenching...:)................
An excellent take on this subject.

My-our contacts with this body of humanity is touchy at times with no easy answers when it comes to true freindships with them. I do no always want to try but they are part of us. Bless you. A smile and a little understanding goes a long way. People deserve recognition. Ignoring problems in society does not make them disappear. I really liked your poem, but I have to say the font was difficult to read. lydi**

I had fun with this and tried to be a as real as possible in presenting the feeling behind the poem. Yes the font is a little different. Kathy.
Deep and meaningful. I had to read it more than once to see its meaning, because I tend to overthink things and poetry tends to be cryptic, many times the simple truth is easy to miss. But I believe all this lead me to your moral about the people around us. Your manner of writing is beautiful having so many genre's in one. Tyfs!

One thing so nice is that we all are so different but so similar too. We need each other (of course in differing degrees) but also the fact that we all see things from differing viewpoints is just a such a thing of wonder to me. I am pleased to hear that you found something in this to like..........Bless you much and thanks for reading.....................Kathy
I love this Kathy so often you gently give us the opportunity to think beyond our own back yard! To examine ourselves and the states of our hearts. To each a season of many many things we just don't know what that might look like. We must always be kind and compassionate. Starz x

This is a poem that would lead a reader to thinking very deeply, I got to read it again and again. Are they homeless, this line caught me...and i had to finish the last line to say yes but again no they are not homeless..
this people exist in every country and true to your last statement we should nurture with nourishment.

Hunger comes in many forms and i guess that when the need at hand is met then other things are addressed. People are complex and connection with many people is not guaranteed but we can try. "Everyone has a story" I think you are so right. It shows in our behavior, how people respond to life as well. All people are this way don't you think? I did want to give it a little bit of style for the subject and enjoyed the process..............Bless you so much kathy Ps you have really encouraged me...........

Goodness that is inspiring. I just never get tired of how we see things in one another. Many times we may not necessarily see for ourselves. Thank you so much Pete for your words!
This is touching, it feels heartfelt and genuine. The thought is reflected through a beautiful arrangement of words. I seriously feel that people who have lived life, have endured struggle and they have the best stories to tell, be it triumph or tribulation. I very much enjoyed this piece and it will resonate in my mind and conscience for a long long time.

Thanks. Human beings are complex and multi layered at best and I guess I just try to deal with what comes my way. This area of homelessness is also complex and does diserve an open mind to all people's feelings and listening and learning. I just love your response too! Thank you so very much for responding. kathy
Thet greatest problem is that there are impostors who exploit people's conscience and actually make a lucrative "profession" of their "misfortune".
This , in turn, creates opportunities for politicians to manipulate social, racial and religious tensions that can so easily destroy any sense of trust or compassion.
Your moving poem shows how difficult it is to find a practical answer to this dilemma.
Norman.

I guess life experience sometimes jades a view --given that the "stories" of people can also be lies and terrible deception -- I tend to err on the side of caution rather than be burned. Listen, perhaps, but knowing there is always another side.

Caution is good as we approach any relationship, I understand. Thanks for your input on a subject that differs in emotion for so many. You give good advice whether that was your intention. I took it as so out of caution in the future with this branch of people. Blessings Kathy

Many times I've had the opportunity to know these kinds of people on a personal level, and they have a story as much as you or I. Thank-you for spending your time calling attention to them. The best gift we can give someone is our time.
At first, I didn't like the font because it was difficult for me to read and I really had to look closely and sort it out. Then I got this thought; isn't that how we have to approach this subject? It isn't "easy". We can't just gloss over it quickly and move on if we want to get the full story. Understanding and embracing these people takes patience and care. It takes our time.

It sounds like you have found the beauty of these people's lives as well. They are a rich reminder to all of us. The reminder being that life circumstances can turn on a dime. I always love your intelligent and thoughtful reviews that give me a wonderful glimpse of your experience and position withing writing and life. I hope your never ever stop! kathy
