How
many times have new seasons or experiences come and gone with no notice? Winter
solstice here in the Pacific Northwest. Vulnerable moment’s leaf
will turn becoming first winter’s step. Within night’s slumber while our souls
dream who will play trumpet’s fanfare? I
suppose for some, celebrating will be the signal, for we do not simply rejoice far
often enough.
One more winter, one more year passing; if we ignore the minutes will they flee
more quickly, more slowly? Look forward; when did we stop? Children know how to
anticipate the future in wild abandon, giddiness of spirit; a trembling joy
just to be alive.
Maybe
as adults we recognize true life essence as a treasure; liquid gold which we
helplessly observe flowing through our outstretched hands. Such a gift! The
gaining of wisdom, housed within life span’s seconds, bestowed within our days
Younger
selves, amazing really, that we have come to this point at all within circuit
of pain, troubles, circumstances. We are all en-route. To survive, thrive,
grow- this, our inner fire, lives bright in our souls.
So ring the bells of Christmas. Look to heaven’s expanse and notice how the stars
vibrate in trembling expectancy. Are
they for us? How complicated does it
have to be as we intensely ponder? Must we question every detail? Why not love just because,
give for its sake, breathe in and out in thankfulness and allow silent moments
of peace. Lastly cut loose those things out of our control into the mysteries
of the unknown?
This is beautiful, reverent and utterly inspiring, Kathy. If only more people held on to thoughts like yours, advising us all to look and see, to see and feel, to feel and then.. to love what's lost inside us but, so easily found. Childhood holds the magic of learning something new every single second of wakefulness. As adults we lose that cos life sweeps us along.. we have 'no time to stand and stare... '
Up there in the Heavens, there are sights and paths to guide us.. first though, we need put ourselves in alignment pon Earth, in other words, find peace. That we can fly with a once lost now newly found urge to live wrapped in the MYSTERY of LIFE and every glorious moment of it.
Sorry, gone on far too long.. Thank you for one of the least cynical pieces of writing i've ever read in here.

Where does time fly to? When this one was forming it was out of desperation for what is lost but hardly noticed. Seasons of days which were so real at the time now faded into the past. i was trying to encourage myself and others and stay centered and positive. I loved your review. You are an encouraging person and that is so needed by all of us. Keep it up! Blessings Kathy

Time keeps on passing. Before we realize it, we have lost so many things that were important to us.
Beautifully expressed.

Loss is real, isn't it? Loss makes the minutes passing even more heavy because their are no guarantees of an expected chain of events in our lives. We plan and then do our best. This the commonality we all share. I hope you are well and that your coming year will be one of lessons learned with some joy for good measure. Bless you.................................Kathy
Great philosophy in this one, Kathy. We do fret too much in general. The calendar pages will turn whether we celebrate or not. If we are happy and rejoice, they will turn. If we are complaining and sad, they will turn. Makes sense to celebrate life....every second we are given. Time is precious. Well written. Lydi**

Oh I like what you wrote!! "Calender pages will turn whether we celebrate or not, happy and rejoice or complaining and sad." I appreciate your words here. I like it when people can teach and share with each other. Thanks for reading my poem and being encouraging too! Bless you this coming year. Kathy
"Sunrise...sunset...swiftly fly the years" Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. How strange now to look back on all the years and realise we are not so young anymore. The message in your poem comes through crystal clear, we must embrace the time we have and rejoice in it. Good write, Kathy

Without Him and His healing power I would not be here today. He is awesome. Kathie
the form caught my attention right away ..very creative ..your musings are wholistic and universal ..i am impressed how this takes the thread and weaves a life time journey .. one can focus on a part or all .. well said says i! yesterday morning (about 3 am) i went out with the dog and noticed two stars in alignment ..and the moon just off to the right ..they were spectacular enough to me that i did the google and found out the two stars were Jupiter and Spica .. Spica being dimmer and not easy to find usually ...observers, i read, use the constellation Corvus to verify it is actually Spica .. so what a treat ... beautiful sky ..wondrous learning ;) here is a link if you are interested .. this morning it was supposed to be most prominently displayed but our sky is overcast this morning :(

i especially appreciate the way you inspire me to pay attention to each precious moment ..they truly are soon gone

I know what you mean. Sky stuff is a never ending place of amazement! Like you I was out looking too ( had gone to bed super late and was checking a few things outside.) I live sort of near a city so was surprised to see the sky far more clear and more stars. Thanks much for the link. Have noticed two stars close also but had no idea spica was involved as I have never heard of it. Bless your heart.......................Kathy
love so many lines of this..."the stars vibrate in trembling expectancy" and many others...this poem reminds me of how slowly the days seem to pass when we were kids...a day took forever...but now in much older age forever passes so quickly in a day.

Ya know as a child my aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents would say time goes by so quickly. It did not click at all. Well...........now it does. You are so right. My parents and husbands parents are all in their mid eighties now and it is sobering to see the relationship between all of us is a little different too because of their challenges. Love your insights and honesty! Bless you and thanks for coming by and reading my prose. Kathy
You are gifting us with your reflections and wisdom. We should cherish every little or large thing as you mentioned marvelously and don't take them for granted. WE are gifted within and gifted without...Excellent...:)...........
