How
many times have new seasons or experiences come and gone with no notice? Winter
solstice here in the Pacific Northwest. Vulnerable moment’s leaf
will turn becoming first winter’s step. Within night’s slumber while our souls
dream who will play trumpet’s fanfare? I
suppose for some, celebrating will be the signal, for we do not simply rejoice far
often enough.
One more winter, one more year passing; if we ignore the minutes will they flee
more quickly, more slowly? Look forward; when did we stop? Children know how to
anticipate the future in wild abandon, giddiness of spirit; a trembling joy
just to be alive.
Maybe
as adults we recognize true life essence as a treasure; liquid gold which we
helplessly observe flowing through our outstretched hands. Such a gift! The
gaining of wisdom, housed within life span’s seconds, bestowed within our days
Younger
selves, amazing really, that we have come to this point at all within circuit
of pain, troubles, circumstances. We are all en-route. To survive, thrive,
grow- this, our inner fire, lives bright in our souls.
So ring the bells of Christmas. Look to heaven’s expanse and notice how the stars
vibrate in trembling expectancy. Are
they for us? How complicated does it
have to be as we intensely ponder? Must we question every detail? Why not love just because,
give for its sake, breathe in and out in thankfulness and allow silent moments
of peace. Lastly cut loose those things out of our control into the mysteries
of the unknown?
This is beautiful, reverent and utterly inspiring, Kathy. If only more people held on to thoughts like yours, advising us all to look and see, to see and feel, to feel and then.. to love what's lost inside us but, so easily found. Childhood holds the magic of learning something new every single second of wakefulness. As adults we lose that cos life sweeps us along.. we have 'no time to stand and stare... '
Up there in the Heavens, there are sights and paths to guide us.. first though, we need put ourselves in alignment pon Earth, in other words, find peace. That we can fly with a once lost now newly found urge to live wrapped in the MYSTERY of LIFE and every glorious moment of it.
Sorry, gone on far too long.. Thank you for one of the least cynical pieces of writing i've ever read in here.

Where does time fly to? When this one was forming it was out of desperation for what is lost but hardly noticed. Seasons of days which were so real at the time now faded into the past. i was trying to encourage myself and others and stay centered and positive. I loved your review. Don't we all long for beauty; to hear, feel see? Profound is a big word with big meaning but it also can be found when we least expect, which is what I love the most. Insights and lessons can be found if we are paying attention. Nice to hear from you and appreciate you reading..................Blessings again as you give from life's gifts to you and keep sharing.............Kathy
wow Kathy, you are exceptional...where have you been all along? Your poetry speaks wisdom, your poetry speaks joy, speaks love and speaks about God.
I take your advise to cut loose of the things out of my control this year and the years to come.

Sometimes I thnk we recieve little glimpses that we are not in control. Just look around us; things happen and we are watching in surprise half the time. God is in control not us. We simply have the opportunity to be His loved children. His ways rub off on us somehow. Bless you too! Kathy

What a blessed testament to the joy of stillness and not becoming lost in the mechanics of life. Peace truly found in the heart of a child. I love your words...really they are words to meditate on. My words seem inadequate...lol but this is wonderful Kathy. Starz xx

Oh Cathy what beautiful write. How utterly inspiring. We often complicate our vision by moving too far away, trying to take two steps at a time in place of one. Worry, fear, disappointment all take place in our heart because all we think is we are alone and have to go through everything without any support.
I wonder how many people in today's world look to the sky and thank those stars who always look over us through our everyday life. We have forgotten that we are children of the almighty God who is the creator of this universe. I really liked your ending part of the poem, so very touching and refreshing to my eyes and heart.
Wishing you a very happy new year from this side of the world my frnd.
Sincerely
Dhiman

This is what 'creatives ' do. We think through the seasons and Paul Klee, the artist thought the true creative was a child. So did Picasso.
I can empathise with this. We want to celebrate lives but we find it so difficult. A remarkable, thoughtful write.

This is so well written. We must embrace every minute on this earth, good, bad, indifferent, as time becomes more fleeting as we age, and the memories stored ram home just what we will miss when gone

What a beautiful transcendent pulse beats in the rhythm of your sacred sighs. It made me wonder of all the sweet cycles of our lives, each breath, each sunrise, each week, each lunar month, each season, each year around the sun. How much we might miss if we don't pay attention to the Mystery.

It's remarkable to me how fast time flies by. As a kid it seemed like Christmas would never get here. Oh how I would wish for time to pass so that I might see Santa again. Today it seems I no sooner blink my eyes and the seasons are upon me again. I am learning to appreciate my surroundings more, understanding my time on this planet is limited.
Thank you for reminding all of us how precious time is.

What a wonderful memory your have shared! I love to hear other's stories. Santa, he was so big wasn't he? Childhood is so golden and I totally understand what you mean when you say"blink". I say that too for we just are not in control of time. Thankyou for placing before my eyes to remember to cherish every day. We can all remind one another to do so!
