Awareness

Awareness

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

Awareness of the life within.

"
Swelling intensity,

 Overflowing Christ reality;

Coursing strength and power,

Water of life my drink;

I the growing seed,
Pure awareness, vacuum filled.

in time bearing fruit.

Jesus holds and supports me;

Dependency on His Spirit,

Pure relief. My release!

I don't know if i'm religious anymore. Not sense we had to put down our 16 year old shepherd mix who was filled to his eyeballs with arthritis and cancer . Not since it was pointed out to me that no where in the holy scriptures does it say that dogs have souls, and thus, will not be in heaven with us. WTF! And while Richard Branson is preparing a rocket ship to take people to Mars. And since the rest of us poor and lonely souls are relegated to writing about the soothing mysticism of a heavenly monarchy, I still know how to love and appreciate someone else's love and appreciation.....great poem.....dana

You know I'm not religious, Kathy.
But i like people who have there own faith.
It gives you deeper meaning. A purpose of such.
Life and boulders. They sort of go together.
Be good. Paul.

Amen. I wrote a poem to express this view. I'll share it here for you to ponder.

I See You
From
The Word Garden
Of
Valormore

In gentle whispers made by falling leaves,
I perceive you summoning.
In cloudless mist upon my face,
I hear my name upon your lips.
~*~
In the presence of my enemies,
I evoke your promise.
In frightening tempest of vast enormity,
I perceive your reassurance.
~*~
In volleys from slings and arrows,
I stand whilst others collapse about me.
In merging blood of innumerable innocent,
I fathom your indignation.
~*~
In smoke from altars far afield,
I recognize your displeasure.
In platitudes made to artificial deities,
I appreciate your righteous anger.
~*~
In the kindness of strangers,
I see your compassion.
In the bounty and beauty of nature,
I see your passion in blossom.
~*~
In the vastness of the universe,
I see how small we are.
In the atoms of our flesh,
I see the universe within.
~*~
In all that we comprehend of existence,
I see but a fleeting glimpse of your entirety.
In all the love we profess,
I see as a pale reflection of your perfect love.
~*~
In your living word,
I see your benevolent plan.
In the Resurrection,
I see our wondrous eternity.
~*~

In all things great and small,
I praise your holy name.
Yours is the kingdom, power, and glory forever.
Let it be on Earth as it is in Heaven.
~*~
AMEN

You are welcome.
Beautiful. I love the flow and feel of this poem. My favorite lines are: Water of life my drink; I the growing seed, in time bearing fruit. Humans, like all living things, need water to grow and flourish, and there is no better water than the water of life. Enjoyed this poem very much.
