Prey

Prey

A Poem by Kate Wing
"

Written in 2007 when emotions were running high.

"

Do you know what you did?
Do you know how many people you hurt?
Do you have any idea how much pain is now present in this world just because of you?

People are screaming for your blood,
they are threatening to hunt you down and spill it upon the earth.
The thing is that I’m torn about how to deal with it.
Death is never the answer,
but permanent removal of you from our lives would be a good solution,
however you aren’t about to volunteer to do that.

I want you to feel pain like everyone else has.
I want you to feel some measure of the pain you have caused.
We all want you to suffer like we have.
I want to see you bleed,
but I don’t want to see the blood on the hands of someone dear to me.

This is what you have made us.
We are animals set on the hunt,
out for blood,
prepared for the kill and you are our prey.
