Broken Wings

Broken Wings

A Poem by Kate

There's no way you could understand,
No matter how hard you try,
The reason she cries every night,
The reason that she hides.

No way to put into words
What she feels inside,
She sits alone and watches
As life passes her by.

Don't try to get too close to her,
She'll just push you away,
Fold up inside of herself
With things she couldn't say.

Behind the walls she's broken,
Shattered beyond repair,
She sits there and endures the pain,
Yet she knows it is not fair.

Her wings have been torn in half,
Causing her to fall,
No one comes to rescue her,
No one answers her call.

She's a bird that cannot fly,
A girl that's blind to her perfections,
So she lets herself cry
Until she doesn't recognize her reflection.

Maybe if you'd open your eyes,
You would finally see,
How she's dying on the inside
And you'd realize she's me.

About
I love writing and use it as a way to vent my emotions. I don't know if I'm any good, as I'm my own worst critic. Being that I use writing as an emotional outlet, every piece is very personal and has .. more..
