New Love

New Love

A Poem by Kate

I think your kiss has the power to heal me.
You make the scars and the pain fade away.
I long to know what you feel like, your arms wrapped around me tight.
Your scent lingering on my disheveled bed sheets after you've gone.
I long to know what it's like to wake to the hazel in your eyes.
To feel your calloused hands on the bare skin of my thigh,
Soft and gentle as a butterfly's wings would be your caress.
Your velvet tenor singing me to sleep.
Your love my safety when the water gets deep.
I long to feel these things with you,
to belong to you,
to be trapped in the snares of your hypnotic gaze.

About
I love writing and use it as a way to vent my emotions. I don't know if I'm any good, as I'm my own worst critic. Being that I use writing as an emotional outlet, every piece is very personal and has .. more..
