Cocooned

Cocooned

A Poem by Kate Chesson

Like an elastic band

Stretched

Yet taut as a ballet dancers belly

Tight
Constrained by fear
Like close fitting lycra

Challenged by the mundane
Unable to dress your identity

Embellish the truth

To be

Me

Me

Be

Me

Find a fit

I can't be you

So i'll be

Me

If that's ok with you?
