Against The Wind

Against The Wind

A Poem by Katrina Mckeown
"

Never give up and never give in, keep on pushing against the wind.

"
Should I go North
should I go South
should I go East
should I go West
So many questions in my head

I could climb high
or perhaps go low

Against this fierce wind
does the rain know
tides will turn
and forests may burn

Never give up
never give in
just keep pushing forward
against this cruel wind.

Hopefully the calm will come
after the storm
and you will have time to reform.

Your poem is a stirring and inspiring call to action, urging us to persevere in the face of adversity and to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles we may face. The use of imagery, such as "climbing high" and "going low," creates a sense of both strength and vulnerability, while the repetition of "never give up" and "never give in" adds a touch of urgency and determination. Your words convey a sense of both courage and hope, and the final lines, "hopefully the calm will come / after the storm / and you will have time to reform," are both reassuring and empowering. Your poem is a testament to the power of resilience and the human spirit, and to the importance of never losing sight of our goals and dreams.

the wind representing all of the obstacles in life...the ones that blow us to and fro, the ones that blow us off course...are we capable of resetting our course...I believe so, I believe so.

Gee
Reminds me of the footie anthem "you'll never walk alone" which was played as mum disappeared behind the curtains at the crematorium.
Enjoyed your words Katrina

Plz also read and comment on any of my two newest poems as per your preference.

This could be literal or allegorical. Most of us have stormy winds to contend with at some time in our life - either literally or allegorically! A good message in your poem!

Totally… Never give in ! Thanks Lisa
Go west always dear Katrina. The Devil can't find you in the western wind. The Native Americans believed. In the west, we can escape to the great sea and know the feeling of freedom. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

It takes courage to push through a storm. I found a positive message contained in your words Katrina. Small steps at a time, but keep moving. All good wishes.

I did, do. You are welcome, Katrina...
You pack lots of positivism in this poetic song. We should uplift each other, especially in these hard times.
Marvelous Katrina...
