Hope

Hope

A Poem by Katrina Mckeown
"

Hope Springs eternally

"
Hope is not a little thing
Depending on who we are
Hope is as big as we wish
Maybe of something near or far
We may hope to remain here or there
We may hope for others too
We may hope for all illnesses to be gone
We hope for better, never for worse
We may hope for love
We may hope for trust
We may hope for war to cease
We may hope for children’s innocence
We may hope to be fortunate in everything
We may hope springs eternally.
I hope you have a nice day.

First read of yours Katrina and I must say I liked it and I agree....
A while back I too wrote a short poem called Hope...I was quite a bit younger than I am now when i wrote it.
I really loved the way you ended it...very clever...

Never wiser words been said about hope and its relationship to our wellbeing, outlook on life and action. You say it all with power and conviction. Hope is like the lighthouse in the distance of rough seas. You write marvelously...

I agree dear Katrina. We must know hope and leave fear and regret behind. I loved the dance of words my dear friend. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are welcome dear Katrina.
Such a positive ending Katrina. Without hope we are lost. Really enjoyed the read and it is good to see you back on the board. It has been a while.

we hope our children can survive the future we are leaving for them.
I like the last line....I see another meaning with it...a more sarcastic one.
What we do to ruin the world today without a care for others, will cloud our tomorrows.
There is hope in your poem...I just hope we don't ruin the outcome by being who we are right now.
