Nature

Nature

A Poem by Katrina Mckeown

The beauty of nature is beyond compare
Look at the trees inside our orchids
They are growing pears.

Mother Nature has plentiful
gifts to give

The vegetations in our forestry
To our herb gardens and all our crops.

To all the fruits growing on our trees
bananas, apples and oranges.

To the sheep, cows and pigs
in our fields .

To the working bees
making our honey
that tastes so sweet.

The beauty of nature
is beyond compare
Look at our dolphins
our giraffes and big bears
Our colourful yet
playful parakeet .

Listen to the songs
of our songbirds
or watch our buzzy bees
Or our wildlife zebras or
the funny antics
of our chimpanzees.

Down streams you may
see shoals of our little fish
Or catch our tadpoles or
spot our frogs
floating on a Lilly pod.

Our sea is full of beauty
if we care to look
As we might see
our dolphins and seals
are dancing on the waves .

Finding out our fish
have some funny names
like Clown fish or Cat fish,
Salmon, Cod and Trout
now that may sound
rather strange
As to our fish there is
such a varied range.

Isn’t it good to watch
our wildlife shows
to find out about
Our animals
that we share
our home.

We all like
to find out
different things.

From earth and space
and everything
that surrounds us .

Isn’t it good for
us to know
About this wold
Our great big globe.

Just to find out
different things
about the world
In which we live in.

Sir David Attenborough
is an amazing man
and he’s doing all he can
to enlighten us
to the damage
that us humans are
causing to our wildlife
and our planet.

dearest Katrina... another Spring to soothe our broken hearts as
people on our earthen Globe are serving a pandemic of woeful worry.
The 'buzzy bees" attending the flowers for our honey... and all the
fruit trees blooming in their glory. Your poetry delicately describes
the beauty of our awakening to butterflies and Giraffes smiing
as we laugh once more with the budding of life in the midst of searching for
a cure of a new threat imposed on our earth. truly, Pat

Like you I am an avid watcher of wildlife and nature programmes.Sir David Attenborough is a national treasure, always appreciated, but more so in these days of lockdown. If we can't get out to see it for ourselves, the next best thing is to switch on the TV or Netflix and get stuck in to it. Double helpings for me at the moment. I am greedy for these programmes and they don't put on weight. So educational. I always feel I have exercised my brain, done a workout with Sir David.
