The Day Your Life EndedA Poem by kattiexoxoThis is a long poem. The smell of fresh rain filled the skies The sight of droplets falling from your eyes Was there anything that I could do? Because I'd do anything to save you You were so high and invincible With your thoughts incomprehensible Consumed completely in your sorrow For you there was no tomorrow You made the decision in your soul And took it into your control But did it have to end so soon? Surely there was something else for you I only wish I had spoken out But you told me to close my mouth Because I kept your promise all those years To never tell anyone of your fears The danger that you had wielded Only this time you didn't yield You continued to harm and hurt And through the years became quite curt Was it because of the others? Weren't you thinking of your father and mother? And all that they had done for you Now their plans gone askew It was not your job to go and die If only you didn't believe those lies ... Do you remember? The time, the place Or any of the faces Of the ones who lied? Do you remember All those parties at my house Where we'd get drunk And then pass out? Do you remember All the times you wanted to die So you grabbed a knife And said "I'm not meant to survive"? Do you remember How much your hospital visit cost? No, you wouldn't Because you were already lost ... The smell of fresh blood filled the room We knew that we would lose you soon Was there anything we could do Because we'd do anything to save you.
