SaudadeA Poem by KatThis is probably the most personal I've gotten with any "public" writing, it's carries the load of love, pain, life, and the loss of it. UnisonI'd rather be dead than brain dead Thoughts as these could be considered cynical Or rather Thoughts of a realist My dear, Hope for the worst You hold mankind to accountable, lower your expectations of each So when you feel the wrath of a rainstorm Your heart will remain a rock And your mind? Like a pillow Youth disguises the power of these words, But I beg my love hear not the pity But the power behind this hail storm See mind and body are like the slow dance of a mother and her fetus Each capable of murder So understand my brain has deserted youth And with a heart soon unable to beat on its own Bones turn to dust and it’s too dust all of me shall return I will grow with the only hope I know Expanding a brain capable of murder See my love this is why I'd rather be dead than brain dead By: Kat JW 11/1/2012
