Big, blue whales!!

Whales,

Big blue whales,

As they wallow,

And they dance and sing

And make merry!

Whales,

Big blue whales,

How marvelous and beautiful

I saw them once from a ferry!!

 

I saw them

And they saw me back.

Soaking in their age-old wisdom,

That I so obviously have lacked!

Whales,

Big blue whales,

The joy they brought to me.

The joy of the ocean,

Of swimming in the big blue sea!!

 

How I wish to find,

The joy that once was mine.

How I wish to seek,

The happiness that once belonged to me!

But as I stare at them,

And they stare back at me,

I realize that I truly am free.

The only boundaries that bind me are my own,

All the chains I must break,

And all the ropes must be torn.

To break away, to be free.

Just as free as the big, blue whales seem to be!!
