Listen

Listen

A Poem by Kaseda

If a tree falls in the middle of a forest

And it doesn’t make a sound,

Will anybody be able to listen?

The pitch of the first note

In Samuel Barber’s Adagio,

The saddest piece ever written,

Is a b flat.

Only eight minutes later,

Many find themselves

In tears

A teardrop

Can often be followed by another teardrop

But there must first be

A first teardrop

And yet, the musicians are dry-faced

If I were to cry

Without releasing a tear,

Who would listen to me?
