Questioning Yourself

Questioning Yourself

A Poem by Kaseda
"

It's a weird thing when you question yourself, especially about sexuality.

"
I am fairly certain that everybody has their day
When the idea pops up in their mind for the first time.
Everybody has that moment where they are on the verge
Of making a choice that can change their life.

However, it all begins with a single question,
One that is potentially as harmful as it sounds.
It all begins with questioning yourself,
Saying, "What if I'm not straight?"

And then you just constantly think about it,
And it never leaves your head.
But in the end you'll take a path,
No matter which of them it is.

Commonly there is the one who doesn't deviate,
The one who rejects the idea of not being normal.
There's the one who no matter what they do,
Will always just stay straight.

But then there's the ones who do change,
But still like the idea of where they're at,
The ones who like versatility and adventure,
The ones who turn out bi.

If you're like me, then you'll think a lot,
And realize that you're not comfortable,
Realize that where you are isn't right,
And believe that you are gay.

And if you've done a bit of research just to figure it out,
Then maybe you'll know there's more than just three,
And choose one that's more unique, and if you do,
Then you're one of the people who are pansexual.

But it doesn't simply just end there,
Because you'll always keep on thinking.
You'll develop yourself during experiences,
And learn more about yourself that way.

Maybe you'll fall in love one day,
And realize it's simply a wonderful thing,
You'll fall in love with love itself,
And just accept everything.

Or if you're like me, then you'll experience it all.
You'll know not just the bright side of things,
You'll know the evil and darkness too.
You'll realize that love is death.

If you're like me, then you will continue to question,
You'll continue to think, continue to question,
You'll think it's awkward and awful and agonizing
And you'll reject love and sex and life

And if you're like me, you'll never stop thinking
You'll continue to wonder what it's like to have kids
You'll continue to wonder what it's like to be married
You'll continue to wonder what it's like to be in love again

But you never will because you've rejected it because it's awful.
But it's always possible that you could have, because it all begins with a question.
It all begins with the single question that changes our lives forever,
It all could have been different if you simply found a different answer,

Like many other people have.
