MusicA Poem by KasedaA (slam) poem of smooth transitions regarding the concept of human ignorance.
Too many times I've heard people say
"Music is my life." But the issue with that statement, is that it isn't. Unless you can tell me the notes in an A minor chord, music is not your life. Because you don't realize that music goes deeper than humming, singing, and guessing. Because that's probably all you do. You don't realize that some people, like musicians, can say that statement, and it literally be true. Did you know that the Chinese word for music is ongaku? Well probably not, because you're too ignorant to notice I lied. Ongaku is actually Japanese, like the culture that stick chopsticks in their hair. Which also is not Chinese. So the next time someone pulls chopsticks out of their hair and eats Ramen, check if they're Japanese style or Chinese style, and they'll probably be Chinese style. Even if not, point it out anyways, because they're ignorant of the fact that the chopsticks you stick in your hair are for cooking, not eating. And all of this because they are too ignorant to even check if they are wrong. So next time someone says, "Music is my life," follow up by asking them, "What are the seven modes in music?" Their answer should be, "Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, and Locrian." As a tip to help you remember that, also remember, "I drink pee, leave me alone," and if you understand what I mean with that, then congrats. You aren't ignorant.
