Church and State

Church and State

A Poem by kasG
"

Not necessarily what you might expect.

"

Expostulating absurdities

More than just words to me

Striving for maturity as I ascend towards infancy

There is vast greatness

Incomparable and immeasurable

In wanting for quiet humbleness

Meekness is no weakness

I boast in nothing more

Than a desire to be less

Less is best

Theology, anthropology, oncology

They all have their pompous prodigies

Philosophies and bureaucracies

Destroy the purest democracy

So I choose a monarchy

And the Monarch knows me intimately.

Hmmm, very few poems on this site make me think. And as I go back to re-read a few lines for the fourth or fifth time just to absorb your words, I know you've done well. Favorite line is "Striving for maturity as I ascend towards infancy". You give some unique insight. Not just some random ramblings, but actual processed thought. Good Job. I must say one thing, what is it about the monarchy? I am confused, your only weak point, you leave me suspended with an untimely conclusion. If you take this to heart and add more to your ending, message me, I'd love to read it.
