I SIT AND I WONDER

I sit and I wonder

What is outside that door

I feel so safe on this side I know

What is out there is scary

But at one time it wasn't

There was fun, and good times

Not a care in the world

Big dreams of love and success

Is that still a dream or

Should I just let it go

 

I sit and I wonder

What this world's all about

Some wonder why

And some say how high

It's all in the attitude

And the things that you do

You make it or break it

It's all up to you

 

I sit and I wonder

How to get through the door

And not dread what is out there

Or what I might do

When did this happen

When did I change

I remember the days of

Confidence and joy

are they still here

just buried below

There are things that

Bring joy to my heart

Now and then

But I want it to happen again and again

 

I sit and I wonder

How life is a mystery

What happened yesterday can happen tomorrow

I seek out the answers

That I need to know

I need to find my confidence

That was lost in my soul

So I sit and I wonder...
