ALONE IN THE RAIN

I'm standing here alone in the rain

So many things going through my brain

The drops falling down cleansing my soul

Bringing me out of that deep dark hole

 

I raise my arms to the heavens above

Wishing for something or someone to love

I want to feel my heart soar

Just like the eagle near the shore

 

I want to grasp those stars in the sky

And stop asking everyone why oh why

Throw up my arms and shout it out loud

That I am happy, strong, and proud

 

The road has been rocky, stormy, and long

But I want everyone to hear my song

A song that comes from deep in my heart

That longs to give us a whole new start

 

Smiles and laughter is part of the answer

Just like the fun of a great tap dancer

Life is to short to worry and fret

And that is something we can never forget
