Chapter 7A Chapter by KARWOOHeld Captive
Chapter Seven
It was getting later in the day and the room was only slightly full. The group was taken out and escorted to a bus. Sharon notice how empty the school was. The street looked as it is usually did. Life went on as usual.
The bus ride wasn’t a long ride. They were sent to the convention center. There were other buses and groups of people getting off of the bus.
The convention center didn’t have the usual conventions going on. It was full of others that had been escorted here. They were tagged and numbered. Their identities were taken from them. There were now known as The Intruders.
The group was kept together and the kids thought this to be such a great adventure. They were escorted to a place where cots were set up with chairs. Their information was gathered again and there was a lot of people chatting and talking.
There were muffled voices as they talked in hushed tones. Looking at Frank His eyes were blistering with anger. They glowed red. He said nothing but he was taking in all that was going on. He was convinced that he was not a part of all of this mess. The mess he himself had started.
“How could this secret been kept from them? They were the secret so they were not prepared for this. They didn’t even know their heritage. It seemed that the only ones who even suspected this were Rose and Bert.” Sharon thought
Sharon figured there were others like Rose and Bert, Aged and full of knowledge.
Sharon’s stomach started to growl. She realized that they had not eaten since the morning. She was surprised that her children were not complaining that they were hungry.
Just as she was getting ready to say something to the girls, Lilly whined,
“I’m really hungry but I don’t feel good either!”
“I know,”
Soothed Sharon
“I am hungry too.”
Obviously that was overheard, as there were those who were saying the same thing. It started to get really noisy and voiced opinions emerged about starving them.
About a half hour later, fast food smells were floating in the air.
The kids were really excited because there were different kinds of food from their favorite places and they went right for the food they wanted.
It was late and the kids wanted to sleep.
“Mommy, I don’t want to sleep in that yucky bed!” snapped Lori.
“Me either.” Mimicked Lilly.
Sharon was tired too she didn’t like the cots either so she, wanting to know why they were being held captive for so long, approached the guard.
“So when can we go home? Are we prisoners for something? Last time I remember this was a free country! If we have done nothing wrong then send us all home!”
The guard answers back the best he knew how.
“Ma’am, I think tomorrow. I am not sure what the holdup is. I am only following orders.” He politely responded.
No one knew what was going to happen; she knew they were not going home that night.
A young girl maybe 14 or 15 years old was held in restraints she was real quiet. She also had anger in her eyes just like Frank.
Sharon had noticed her before but she didn’t really think much at the time with all the commotion and hoping nothing wrong would happen to her family. Now she was curious about her.
She had short red hair, Obviously Kool-Aid red. She has tattoos on her shoulders. She looked like no one cared about her as she was dressed in dark clothes and netting sox with Combat boots. Her t-shirt had the shoulders torn off and the bottom of the shirt had been torn so that you could see her stomach. She looked like she needed to bath as well. She had dark black makeup on her eyes and black lipstick that had been smeared from her obvious struggle.
Sharon approached her and the girl flipped her off and spurted obscenities at her. Sharon decided to leave her for the time being. The girl laughed loudly and yelled, “That’s right I will hurt you!”
