AT THE SITE

Dust kicks up in the air. Many Military trucks, helicopters and some emergency vehicles arrive close to a small town in Washington close to the Canada border by the name of Shuksan. It seems there is something there. There is a strong scent of pine in the air where trees have been plowed down. There were people being pulled out of the ground. You could see that they are visibly shaken and in shock from the experience. There are injured and some are dead. The men working to save them seemed shaken too.

A large bus pulls up and they are taken and put on the bus. Soul after soul gets on the bus and some are being taken in the emergency vehicles and airlifted by the helicopters.

After they pulled out all the people, the site was covered up. It looked like a mining company had come and stripped the land.

The bus had, men, women and children packed tightly in it. They were brought to Shuksan. The people were very kind and were very eager to help in any way that they could. There was much excitement as not much goes on there. It is pretty secluded. There wasn’t much civilization for miles. Just mine camps, farms and mountains were seen from miles.

These people were then taken and cleaned up, their wounds taken care of and given new clothes. They were then separated into groups and families after which they were shipped to different locations all across the states.

The president of the United States was on call with the military General in charge of the rescue effort.

The General questioned the President if it was really safe to integrate these people into our society.

“Yes Sir, I just hope that this doesn’t get out, you know that there will be a world-wide panic. Not everyone is as accommodating as you are sir.” States the General.

The president responds. “If this ever gets out, even a leak we may all see that much will be destroyed and for no reason. Your life will be on the line along with all the other people who have witnessed this.”

There was a newspaper column that ran the next day. It reads.

There was a 7.6 earthquake in northern Washington and Canada. Many are shaken literally out of bed. A great flash in the sky accommodated this occurrence over the border of Canada and the US official feel that is has to do with movement of lava. Geologists have no hard evidence of this and there has been no volcanic activity in the mountain. There was a big sinkhole found about the size of a two baseball stadiums.

Three generations have passed since then. Not much has happened. Most of the people who were there that night are either dead, or too old.
