A Dark BurdenA Poem by karumenFirst poem from my book "Dissection Of A Feeling"i. i’ve seen it, i’ve seen it a thousand times under black patches and broken ribs; it did not flutter: a heavy constellation within my chest; a light --oh, so light-- burden; i’ve seen it, even though i’m blind: --because i’m blind ii. i felt it too: the end of the world in the touch of my fingertips, the echo of a song in the edge of my lips. i felt it too: the burning sea and the unshed tears and the cold, the cold, the cold in a summer night. iii. today i heard you calling my name, with the force of blinding lights of trembling lips of violent delights --no, no there wasn’t any kind of end. today i dreamt i heard you, i dreamt and screamed and begged and please stay, stay, stay. that song feels nice against my skin, it hurts and makes my ribcage crumble, it’s okay: touch me, touch me. stay. © 2018 karumenAuthor's Note
