My senior year didn’t turn out as perfect as I use to dream of. But I got to look on the bright side in four months I won’t have to put up with the monotone teachers, listen to the girl’s gossip in the bathroom and I’ll be able to sleep in. Oh I’m sorry I didn’t even introduce myself. The name is rose Russell, my friends, which is very few, call me rose. Let me tell you a little about myself if you haven’t heard by now I’m a senior, I have children, I work part time scrubbing floors, and one more thing you might want to know is I’m considered the ‘lost’ class. So if you are one of those girls who gossip about business that doesn’t involve you or like to get into people’s life and mess them up you should put this book down. Unless you’re still curious then keep reading. If you’re like me who could care less what your called, what you drive and isn’t fancy like most girls these days you picked up the right book. I’m not now days what people call normal. I drive beat up old pickup truck, wear boots to town and say yes mam and no mam...You may be wondering why I’m considered the ‘lost class’. See it all started back my junior year here at north high. I was the ‘’new’’ girl, everybody wanted to be my friend. One of the things I enjoyed was if I wanted the hottest guy I got him. Needless to say I got him. I wasn’t as rich as some girls here but everybody knew my dad’s car company. Now to tell you a little about my hottest boyfriend ever! Jake long was his name. He was the most popular guy at the school. He was also on the basketball team, track team and straight a student. Did I mention also the richest boy in town? Put it this way he rid in a limo everyday to school. What people never saw though was the other side of him. At first you’d fall in love with him, he’d say things that would make you think he was a REAL gentleman but as soon as you got in the bedroom he was a total different man. And not a good way either. It’s been told that if you were his girlfriend and he wanted to lay down with you if you told him no he’d knock you out cold, get his way, next day break up with you because of sports. Your probably wondering how a girl like me got with a womanizer like Jake. That’s another story I’ll have to tell you later. Back to where we were, about a year later my dad’s had to shut down our company because another company over took us. There weren’t really any good paying jobs here in north high. Dad found a job a few weeks later few hours away that paid decent, since I only had a half year left of school and I had a job. dad decided to let me live by myself since mom passed away a few months before. So he moved down closer to work. I had to sell my car and get a cheaper one so I had extra money for the electric. That’s when I bought my beat up Chevy truck but the best vehicle ever. Needless to say after dad left I became poor and scraped to live. After Jake found out he dumped me and had the whole school against me. Well except two amazing kids, Marie and zack. Marie and zack are seniors to that live together on their own. I met Marie one day in the bathroom, yes I know bathroom out of all places. I just got done getting my stuff thrown all over the hallway. So I ran into the bathroom bawling my eyes out. Marie saw me crying, even though I use to do the same thing to her, she came up and dried my eyes and nose since they were running like a faucet. I couldn’t believe after all I did to her she let me cry on her shoulders. I was such a monster back when I thought I was all that and a bag of diamonds. Later that day w ate lunch together, that’s where I met her boyfriend zack. We instantly became friends. It was about two months into my senior year when my life began to change. One day I started getting sick, It seemed like I was always eating which was weird because I seldom eat much, and I could smell about everything. One morning after already being late to school I stopped by the bathroom because I felt sick again. I ended up running into Marie all happy as can be but she also looked scared. ‘What’s wrong? Are you okay Marie?’’ I asked. ‘’ yes...um yes and no? If that makes any since?’’ ‘’well tell me, I know there’s something that I don’t know.’’ I replied now curious as can be. What was she not telling me? ‘’ well… you know how me and zack were talking about after graduation we were wanting to try to have a baby?’’ ‘’yes, what about it.’’ ‘’ummmm….’’ She said pulling out a little white strip that said congratulation I gasped’’ oh my is that??’’ I was in shock ‘’ yes rose it is’’ she laughed’’ I guess we got are wish a little bit earlier then planed’’ ‘’ I guess so.’’ I smiled. ‘’ so what’s up with you? You’ve been getting sick the last couple weeks. Have you been to the doctor?’’ Marie asked looking at me strangely like I wasn’t telling her something. ‘’ I don’t know, and no I hate doctors. It’s probably just stress or virus. No big deal’’ I replied...but thinking to myself really wondering what was wrong with me. Just as the bell rang Marie said’’ you know it sounds like your pregnant too; you’ve been quite moody here lately and extra tired. I have an extra test if you’d like.’’ ‘’ ugh no! I can’t be pregnant. I got to go to class text me later.’’ ‘’okay’’ rose said as we both walked our separate ways to class. All day I thought about what Marie said. I couldn’t be you have to have sex to do that, I’ve only done it once with Jake, plus I was on birth control. That afternoon I checked out early with Marie since she convinced me to go to the doctor. As we were sitting in the doctor’s office Marie started to talk to me again. ‘’ so are you sure you can’t be?’’ ‘’no!’’ I said it a little harsh without thinking. We remand quit till Dr Robinson came in. ‘’ hi rose, so tell me what’s going on with you.’’ As she looked at me and smiled at rose and her belly. ‘’ well I’ve been sick for last couple weeks, it seems worse in the mornings and ease up later at night. It’s probably just some virus.’’ ‘’ by any chance can you be pregnant?’ ‘’no, I’ve only had sex once plus I’m on birth control.’’ ‘’birth control isn’t always 100% accurate.’’ ‘’well I can’t be, I just can’t.’’ ‘’OK rose, but I’m going to give you a pregnancy test just for proto call.’’ ‘’fine’’ I said sacrastly. So I went to the bathroom did the little cup and came back in the room to wait. Marie looked at me like I was hiding something. ‘I’m not pregnant Marie.’’ ‘’ I didn’t say anything.’’ ‘’but your thinking about it.’’ ‘’so., wouldn’t it be cool though if you were. We’d be pregnant together and probably close together.’’ I sighed and put my head in my hands. I had this horrible feeling in my stomach; I didn’t like it at all. Few minutes later Dr Robinson came back in with the results. ‘’ well rose, guess Marie was right. Congratulations you’re pregnant. We’re going to do an ultrasound to see how far you are. Marie if you don’t mind will you sit out in the waiting room while we do this, I need to speak with rose private’’ ‘’yes maim.’’ Marie said so politely and walked out. ‘’ am I really pregnant?’’ I said half in tears. ‘’ yes rose, wish I could tell you the opposite.’’ As she started to put the ob cold blue jelly on my stomach. I lay back on the table. ‘’looks like your about two in half months along, do you want to hear the babies heart beat?’’ ‘’ I don’t care’’ ‘’okay, here it is’’ as she rolled the tool on my belly. The sound was amazing. Then it stopped and came back this time sounded like there was two heart beats.’’ Uh oh’’ Dr Robinson said moving the tool around. ‘’ what is everything OK?’’ I asked in a panic like. ‘’ yes, but we have bigger news.’’ ‘’ what’s that?’’ ‘’ hunny your having two babies instead of one.’’ ‘’do what? Your joking right?’’ in a scared tone. My stomach felt queasy. Mrs. Robinson turned the machine closer to me and pointed at two little things, which looked like peanuts. My heart dropped, and I started crying. Mrs. Robinson left the room, she came back with Marie. Marie helped me up and gave me a hug. I started to bawl my eyes out like falling rain. There were so many thoughts going through my head. I looked up at Mrs. Robinson which was almost in tears too. ‘’ thanks I guess, can I go home now?’’ ‘’ take these once a day, it’ll help keep the baby, well babies healthy Come back and see me in a month.’’ I quickly grabbed the bag and ran out the building. As soon as we got to Marie’s car I fell into the seat with my head in my hands crying so hard. I looked up at Marie who looked helpless. ‘’ how am I going to tell Jake?’’ ‘’ you don’t have to tell that sorry idiot anything, me and zack will help you.’’ ‘’ as much as that sounds good, I think he should know.’’ I said red face like a tomato. So after Marie, zack and I talked about ways to tell Jake about the news we came up with a solution. That night I called Jake. Shocking he picked up. ‘’ hey rose, whats up?’’ ‘’Jake can we meet somewhere sometime soon?’’ ‘’ sure how about Saturday we can go to that new restaurant’’ ‘’sounds great say about two.’’ We both said goodbye and hung up. Saturday was only few days away; I didn’t go to school the rest of the week. I was too upset to go, so Marie stayed with me. Saturday morning came, Marie came over to help me pick out a nice outfit and that didn’t show my belly since I started to show a little. About two Jake picked me up and we went to the restaurant. When we got there he opened the door for me and for a minute I forgot what we really came here for. As he walked to the door I stalled and looked at him. Wondering how I was going to tell him and hoping he wouldn’t freak. ‘’rose, are you coming?’’ he said with a smile. ‘’yes be there in a minute.’’ I hurried up the stairs as he opened the door for me. As we were sited, and we ordered we began to talk like we use to. Catching up, laughing, you know the perfect couple image. For a minute I missed being with him. That’s when I stopped my old thinking and started to pop out the news. ‘’ Jake don’t know how else to say this but....’’ he shut me off.’’ Rose, yes I’m sorry I was a jerk and I’d love to get back together with you.’’ My mouth dropped, I can’t believe what he just said. Was he sick? ‘’ I replied almost in tears. ‘’ but that’s not what I was going to stay. Jake I’m....’’ once again I got caught off, but this time by his mom. ‘’ hey Jake, what are you doing here?’’ at this point wasn’t sure if I could say it or not, I sat there like a frozen doll. ‘’ oh hey mom, just having lunch with my friend rose. ‘’hi rose’’ his mom said with a smile. I waved shyly. As she went and sat at the table, Jake turned around handsome as can be, blonde hair, blue eyes, country tan. Yum! He was defiantly worth staring at. ‘So where were we my beautiful rose?’’ he said in heartwarming feeling. I blurted it, loud enough the tables around me heard.’’ Jake I’m pregnant’’ there it went right out of my mouth like air. He sat there froze. Some clapped around us, some whispered. I started crying and ran out the door. Leaving him there by himself. I called Marie trying to calm down. ‘’ Marie come get me now, and fast’’ ‘’ I’m on my way, calm down.’’ Thank god she lived just around the corner. My heart was pounding, tears got wilder. Just as Marie pulled up, Jake came out looking shocked and furious. ‘’ hey rose, you almost had me fooled for a minute. (Laughter) you’re not pregnant you just were using it as an excuse to get money from me because you’re poor as a rat. Plus NOBODY would ever sleep with a s**t like you.’’ The tears started rolling, felt like a knife just stabbed me and cut down my stomach climbed in Marie’s car half fall in it. My hands my whole body was now shaking. ‘’ rose calm down, breath this isn’t healthy for the babies. What happened? Did you tell him?’’ she said trying to drive and glance at me. I never answered just cried harder. As we pulled up to her house she honked the horn and zack came rushing out to the passenger side. He lifted me out and carried me to the bedroom. I ended up passing out. About a hour later I woke up and staggered to the living room where I saw Marie and zack. I heard something rustling in the kitchen. I looked at Marie and pointed to the kitchen in question. All she did was smiled and signed me to check it out. I slipped in the kitchen like I was a spy. Creeping around the corner. There stood one of my best friends from south high Andrew. ‘’Andrew!’’ I screeched. ‘’ what are you doing here?’’ I had a smile brighter than an a kid eating cake before bed. Andrewe explained that he was moving in with Marie and zack. I was so excited.
