Why Do I MatterA Poem by usmanWHY DO I MATTER The days are coming when this my presence wont be felt. The days are coming when I'll look over my shoulders with no regret. The looks on the eyes of you my friends like I'm the best. The sympathy of an irony tantalizing in a test. To some of you, I am but a passing breeze. To some, I am but a soul on the brink of death. Others might think highly of me. But have you ever thought if that really suits a chap like me? I sound like a person on an oath. With the idea of saying this kept quite afloat. The promises I made to you of being a buddy. Even when I cant keep all of them nice and steady. Three years ago, I had an accident. Back then, it never occurred to me that death could calling upon my beloved soul. A few weeks went by and I was back on my God-given feet. Learning to appreciate life and let the light in my heart lit. Some people you see once and then your eyes will never meet. Some you meet but the friendship never sparks. Others you befriend but they fade day by day in the dark. Then ask yourself which matters the most, and why is that? WRITTEN BY:MUKTAR NAJIB.
