Vixion:4

Vixion:4

A Chapter by karmic

“Lt. Flead. You have a visitor, he says his name is Gleam” A soldier approached the Lt. at his desk.

“What does he want?” Flead groaned. The soldier looked down at a paper he had in his had and read.

“It seems he has sighted two Vixions” the soldier replied.

“Vixions?” Flead muttered.

“Well send him in!” Flead shouted.

“Yes sir” the soldier saluted. The soldier dropped a folder on Flead’s desk, and then exited the room. Gleam slowly walked into the room with a cigarette in his mouth.

“So you have seen two Vixions?” Flead asked.

“I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t” Gleam grinned. Gleam sat down in the chair in front of Flead’s desk. Flead opened up the folder and smiled; he shook his head and closed the folder again.

“Captain Axis Gleam. You were a captain six years ago, but then turned into a wanted man after leaving your post at fort Legal because you said it was being attack by monsters” Flead laughed.

“So that’s what they put on the records” Gleam pointed to his eye.

“Does it look like I ran?” he asked. A soldier burst into the room; he was out of breath.

“Lt. Flead. Two Military Vixions were killed by a train crash” the soldier gasped for air.

“I heard you people were using Vixions for your army” Gleam sighed and put his cigarette out in an ash tray.

“What’s it to you traitor?” A tall dark skin soldier walked into the room; he wore five stars on his uniform. Flead jumped up and saluted. Gleam stood still in shock. Gleam slowly turned to see his old subordinate.

“Sergeant Lennal. How are you these days?” Gleam stood up and leaned on the desk; Gleam held on tightly to the hidden sword he had in his sleeve.

“It’s General Lennal to you scum” Lennal spat. Gleam smiled and turned his head; his sword cut through his shirt. Lennal charged him with his own sword. They both got into a lock with their swords.

“Getting rusty are we?” Gleam laughed.

“I’m going to cut you into pieces” Lennal barked, while pushing forward.

“Maybe next time” Gleam kicked Lennal in the stomach.

“Sir” Flead yelled, while taking out a pistol. Flead shot four times, but Gleam was able to block the bullet with his sword. Gleam kicked his chair at Flead and jumped out the window.

“Who is that guy?” Flead asked, while removing the chair off of himself.

“He is nothing, but a mistake. He’ll be back” Lennal assured, while walking out of the room.

“Sir what about the two Vixion brothers?” Flead questioned.

“Send Radian and Veda after them” he smiled.

“Damn. I wonder how long it will take me to heal this” Gleam observed the bullet wound in his side; his body pushed the bullet out of him.

“Things are starting to hurt again. The crystal’s power must be diminishing” he thought. Gleam’s wound slowly began healing again.

“Hah. I don’t want to start aging again” he huffed.

“Ah we finally found a place to rest” Elsine fell backwards into his bed; he placed his arms behind his head and closed his eyes. The floors were wooden and the walls had square patterns mixed in it.

“You slept through the whole train ride” Jake muttered, while sitting down on his bed.

“Whatever” Elsine grinned, but he felt a heavy stare on him; he looked up and saw that it was Nina.

“Hm? Shouldn’t you be going to your room?” Elsine blinked. Nina sat down in the chair next to Elsine’s bed.

“Why?” Nina?” asked.

“Why what- You know what I’m talking about” Nina interrupted Elsine. Elsine stood up and walked into the bathroom; he took his shirt off and splashed water on his face. Nina looked at Jake who turned away once seeing her look in his direction.

“We have are reasons” Elsine finally replied. Nina noticed the wound on Elsine’s arm; Elsine looked down at it and sighed.

“I bet you want to know how I got this huh?” Elsine whispered.

“Uh no sorry I didn’t mean to stare” Nina stuttered in her apology. Elsine put his shirt back on; he stopped half way and looked at himself in the mirror as if it told a story.

“I got it from the attack on Rushco” he said.

“You are a survivor of the battle of Rushco?” Nina said surprisingly.

“That was no battle Nina” Jake quietly said. Nina turned and looked at Jake again; he was shaking from anger.

“A battle is when both sides have a chance in fighting back” Jake explained; he remembered the missile hitting the house where his sister and mother were in. Jake punched the desk; it then broke in half easily.

“That was a slaughter” he barked. Nina looked down at her lap; she began thinking of her reason for joining the military.

“My brother, he was a sergeant in the military. One day when he was visiting our home in Massel. A Vixion killed him. I never got to see the Vixion’s face, but from what I felt he was strong. I’m not going to join the military as a Vixion, but I’m going to join it as my brother” Nina looked up at Elsine who was drowning in the sorrow inside of her eyes.

“They don’t know he is dead, so I can turn into him and find his killer through the military’s records” she explained. Elsine and Jake stood silent; Nina got out of the chair and walked to the door; she stopped when reaching for the door knob.

“I hope you can tell me your reason one day” she whispered, as she left the room.

The next mourning came quickly; Elsine was already awake and brushing his teeth; he spit into the sink, and then looked into the mirror again. Elsine shook his head then went and grabbed his jacket.

“Where are you going brother?” Jake awoke; he rubbed his eyes and sat up in his bed.

“I’m going out for food” Elsine replied, while putting his black and blue jacket on.

“Okay be back soon brother” Jake smiled and laid back down. Elsine walked out the door and passed the main desk of the hotel; he dug into his pocket and found seventeen dollars.

“Hah we’re really not going to last that long with only this” Elsine sighed. “Maybe Jake is right. Maybe I really am irresponsible” he put his head down; he felt a huge amount of weight push down on him. Elsine walked out the hotel’s door and looked around out side.

“You look lost” Nina said from next to him.

“As if. What are you doing awake?” Elsine asked. Nina placed her hand behind her back.

“No reason” she smiled. Elsine groaned and kept walking with Nina following behind him. Elsine observed the fresh fruit at some of the stands; he noticed that they were selling glass flowers behind him.

“Hey” he called over to Nina.

“What?” she answered.

“Who is this glass maiden person you talked about before?” Elsine asked.

“You don’t know who Miss Eve is?” the shopkeeper of the fruit stand lifted his eyebrow.

“Umm no” Elsine stuttered in fear.

“Eve is the savoir of Bavin. This town would be burned down by the military if it weren’t for her” The shopkeeper explained; his eyebrow was now twitching.

“Oh okay. Thank you” Elsine backed away from the man slowly.

“Be careful of what you say around these people. The worship the glass maiden” Nina whispered. Everybody around them began bowing their heads as a woman came walking by.

“What’ going on?” Elsine asked; he turned to Nina who was already bowing her head. Elsine looked forward to see the woman standing in front of him. The woman’s white hair shined with beauty as her skin showed no sign of flaws.

“Are you a traveler?” the woman asked; she looked a couple of years older then Elsine.

“Ah yea. Um who are you?” he scratched his head. The people around him gasped with disguise.

“He really is clueless” Nina muttered. A boy stood next to the woman; he looked about Jake’s age. The boy’s hair was spiky, and his nails were extremely long.

“Eve he looks suspicious” the boy remarked.

“Eve?” Elsine repeated under his breath. Eve’s hand turned into glass; she cut Elsine’s arm. Elsine’s arm then turned into lead.

“You were right Max, he was suspicious. He his a Vixion” Eve groaned.

“What was that for? You could have just asked if I was a Vixion. Yea I’m one of you” Elsine smiled.

“The only Vixions that are allowed in this town are me and my brother” Eve’s body turned into glass; the people around them ran inside.

“Nina go get my brother” Elsine whispered. Nina nodded her head and began running back to the hotel.
