Something MoreA Poem by karmicSomething More We're not okay, but
it's safe to say we will be Just need something
to deprive us of this stale reality I'm out of words and
I'm exhausted of being me I just need a
scapegoat from this harsh instability We speak. But never actually
hear the complexities of this We are. But never
really exist Is this subtle irony? A cog in the lifeless
machine of you and me? There's no love
and/or hate In this drug induced
reverie state Scripted kisses
filled with butterflies Inhaling "I love
you's" laced with captivating lies Darling, it's the
only romance I know And through my touch
it clearly shows I can pick you apart,
but can't swallow you whole Are you shallow
enough for me to bury my soul? Lying side by side,
but live in such distant worlds Eyes made of marbles
and in-pearled As perception exits
my lungs Words are lost and
die on my tongue This distance is
making me sick Pretending we're so
copacetic Yet sticking to such
simplistic bliss When I know we can be
more than this But what if this is
all I'am? Just comfort for when
the lights dim Warmth for when the
nights are cold Oh how this insipid
dance is getting old This distance is
making me ill! Oh how I yearn for
something real Even arbitrary
conversation Would spark my passion
and inspiration But then your clothes
comes off And my worries
disappear with a scoff Because maybe this
isn't right But I need something
more than words to love tonight © 2013 karmic |
