Patron, Vodka, & MeA Poem by Karlie Kadabra.Tears mixing with Vodka, Words dissolving in alcohol. This is what you do, It's what you've resorted to. There's more to life Than giggling and falling. Tripping and stumbling Over words and tired feet. You muttered a promise, You told me a lie. I thought you were sober, But you have no alibi. Empty bottles hide under your bed I guess the monster grabbed your ankles again. Climbing into bed at 3 a.m. Waking up to a text from a worried friend Another statistic to go on the charts. You have that brooding glare Those sweet words. It's time to let go, Time to move on. Which one will it be- Me or the Patron? © 2011 Karlie Kadabra.Reviews
