NostalgiaA Poem by Karlie Kadabra.Maybe the answer is right in front of me. In all these things that I see daily. Does it mean to go back to you, Oh, just one last time? Does it mean to get on with my life, Or to get over you? To all these questions, well I do believe That you're the answer to all these things. If it's the one I want to hear, Well I'm not quite sure what to do, So let's make up, my dear. We'll hold hands like lovers do And kiss under stars and in front of oceans so blue. You'll give me your jacket and I'll give you my heart. That way you'll never be alone and I'll never be cold. I'll look into your eyes and say, "I've missed you, boy." Then you'll hold me tight, And tell me the things I needed to be told. But what if it's not what I want to hear? It's gonna be hard and there'll be some tears. You'll see me and not feel anything. I'll bump into you and I'll feel the pain of all three years Rolled into one moment and it'll pack a massive punch. Well this isn't karma, And I know this isn't luck. You have the gun and I'm the sitting duck. Maybe this isn't quite so bad. I've perceived it wrong Maybe, possibly, perhaps. There's a few things that I do know; Now just sit back and enjoy the show. You did me wrong, But I returned the favor. Now all thats left is meaningless hating, Cursing each other, screaming and hitting, Loving words left us, They have no meaning. Nostalgia gets to me and now I remember Why we never worked out, And why we aren't together. I may be a fool for thinking this, But you're the court jester For all that you've done; For bringing these ideas on. I've been told I don't need you. My heart says otherwise to keep on working. I can only hope that you need me too. I've been told I shouldn't want you. My brain says otherwise. Don't be quick to judge your feelings, Just look into my eyes As I will yours. Just pause this moment and never leave. Never step away for a drink, Or never leave to get some sleep. Please, just please, Never ever leave. © 2011 Karlie Kadabra. |
