September 11th, a Wifes StoryA Poem by laylaA wifes taleIt was Tuesday morning, labor day just passed The kids are on the bus, starting school at last you left early morning, a flight you couldn’t miss Sometimes I think for hours, did I get a goodbye kiss
My clothes stained with food, my hair a crazy sight I remember every detail, as clear as broad daylight The ringing of my cell phone, that ring is crystal clear Is the news I still remember, it haunts me every year
The call was from your mother, the terror in her voice The news she tried to tell me, I clearly had no choice The news the news, that’s all that I could hear Even though I placed the phone, so tightly to my ear
It was a little after nine, when I saw the plan collide Directly hitting one, of the twin towers side I was utterly confused; this has to be a prank Then the airport called, said plane 11 and I sank
Never thought id lose you, no wife really does Now I drink the liquid, to forget what once was You died on plane 11, 11th of September ill pray everyday, that kiss I will remember © 2012 laylaReviews
