Midnight is MineA Poem by laylasummer time and the kids are homeLight from the sun, and the chirps of the birds Together make music; your thoughts are your words The shade of your roof, cools the air in your house When the clock hits noon, you’ll sweat through your blouse
Quickly you realize, when the kids start to yell That summer is here, you figure oh well Pack the kids up, and off to the beach The fighting begins, and you start to preach
Andy stop crying and Michael I swear Hit him a gain, and those shorts you will wear But mom it’s not fair, he hit me first I yearn for September, school quenches my thirst
The boys all jump in, and the dog wants to play Last month was so quite, how I miss May The best for me, moonlight is the time The kids can have day, midnight is all mine
The sun starts to fall, the horizon gets dark Tell the kid to get out, and the dog not to bark When they comply, my times almost here To sit on my porch, midnight and cold beer © 2012 laylaReviews |
