Prearranged Love
She was a young girl, quick on her feet
She came from a country, war torn and beat
She had future plans, education was one
Her mother had told her, that she was all done
A plan was created, by family and law
That she would be married, and not be a flaw
She looked at her father, and instantly knew
She had no say, it was a powerful crew
She put her head down, and agreed with a nod
She felt that her family, committed a fraud
Deprived her of dreams, success and free will
But yet she complied, a silent cold chill
Hours are now, the distance that stands
Between an innocent heart, and a strange foreign man
The pretty green cloth, slips over her skin
The beautiful gold, placed under her chin
She walks to the table, the ceremony starts
The tears trickle down, like bleeding hearts
For the first time, since she herd the news
The man placed his hands, over her shoes
A sign of respect, and eternal love
The little girl felt, almost free as a dove
Looked into his eyes, and he into hers
A magical feeling, between them has stirred
Time has passed by, 28 years
They felt all the feelings even the fears
Over looking the sunset, on American land
They lye neck and neck, holding their hands
Connecting
Connected
