Dark Side Of Mother Nature

Silent Demon

Its quit at times, but the rage grows under

The silence of a storm, before its thunder

The force down deep, shifts to a speed

No competition, pressure takes lead

The town nearby, protected by hounds

The innocent children, don’t make a sound

The anger, the rage, they soon come to find

No mercy it carries, the deadliest kind

The ripple on top, born at the dawn

Its visible now, the horizon is gone

The shadow I see, a dark scary cloud

I feel that it’s human, growing so proud

I don’t understand, this monstrous figure

With plain eyesight, I see it gets bigger

I walk off the balcony, stand at the beach

The water is gone, far out of reach

Where I stand now, once knee deep in water

Is nothing but sand, I think of my daughter

I finally realize, the dark demon ahead

Is silently coming, my tears start to shed

I moved to the beach, not long ago

So Amanda could thrive, and peacefully grow

We are both Pisces, controlled by emotion

Coinciding with water, just like the ocean

I sprint to the house, the cups start to shake

I hear the powerful thunder, the town is awake

Mommy what’s that, why do you cry

Silently I say, my darling goodbye

This is scary! Brilliant piece this one. The last 3 stanzas are sad when you introduce the daughter and their fate.

I love you image you present of the water having been sucked away. This was the most memorable part of the poem.

Really good and chilling!

The ocean is beautiful, but deadly in a storm...the force you write about is so silent and terrible...
