The NestA Chapter by karen langstonWe had a case that we had been working on for a few days now and it was time to finish up that case. Someone had hired us to clear out a rogue nest in one of their abandoned buildings. Before we rush in to a rogue nest we take a few days to do recon and learn their patterns. It’s good to know when they come and go, how many there are, and how often they feed. Knowledge is power and we had all the power we needed to hit this nest today. We had learned that there are five rogues living in the nest and that they were not all there at the same time. If we hit the nest at the right time we would have two rogues inside. We would take out the two inside and twenty minutes later one more rogue would be coming in. After we take him out two more rogues will arrive exactly forty minutes later. Their schedule had not changed in four days so we were all praying it wouldn’t change today. We felt pretty confidant that we could handle all five at once but we would much rather take them out separately. We also have a little help from our four legged team members. We have two pit bulls, Butch and B***h. They have been trained to spot a rogue from quite a distance. They have even saved our lives on numerous occasions. When we go into a building Butch and B***h guard the doors. If a rogue is coming in they let us know, if a rogue is running out they take him down. These two dogs have fought with us for five years and the only thing they have to show for it is a couple of old scars. These are two tough dogs when it comes to killing rogues, but put them in a room full of babies and they are like little bunnies. I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. We have recently started looking into getting a couple more dogs to train and add to the team. When we are fighting we can’t look after them so we think it would be best if they had more back up on their side. Everyone was ready and waiting and we loaded the dogs into the van and were off to rid the world of five rouges. When we got to the rogue’s nest we unloaded the dogs, grabbed our gear and headed in.
