Does He Not Notice Me

Does He Not Notice Me

A Poem by Kelli Anderson

DOES HE NOT NOTICE ME

I’m standing here watching him; trying to get him to notice me.

The way he smiles in that way, can’t he see what it does to me?

When I hear his voice with that Southern drawl, doesn't he notice that it drives me wild?  I love the sound of it;

slow and deep.

His eyes have that twinkle in them; they seem to be pulling me in.

There so beautiful;

they're such a deep dark brown.

It's as if you can see through to his soul.

Does he notice how I watch him in that way?

I love the way he dresses, so casual in his jeans and t-shirt.

He loves to wear those old boots of his,

and the way he wears his hat backwards.

He could fit into any crowd.

Does he not notice me in the same way?

When he looks my way, and I smile at him; does he not notice me?
