Why I don't watch the news

Why I don't watch the news

A Story by KAREN BROWN

It's so hard to watch the news, theres to much hurt and pain it's hardley ever good news anyway.

People crashing in cars or planes, places and people getting robbed everyday

all the killing is so insane.

Gangs feeling they need to fight using knives and guns, just to state a point and have their fun.

In the event they end up hurting themselves and innocent ones.

We can be just driving down the street ,out of the blue someone starts honking at you

all you see is their lips moving and thier flipping you the birdie.

Maybe because your going to slow or their just angry who knows.

There's so much violence,it's hard to stand ,then seeing and hearing families homeless

starving and unsure of whats to do,sometimes not even sure who to turn too.

It breaks my heart and soul to see so much hurt and pain, I wish I could just take it all away.

I wish I could make everyones life happier, safer be able to change everything forthe better.

I wish everyone could feel and be at peace is what i'd really like to see.

this is nice and i almost enjoyed the beginning, i think this reads
better as an insight or an essay, but with lack of depth it reads
dreary and kinda boring, and doesnt appeal to me personally,
but thats not to say that others wouldnt like it.
i think if it you took more time and the wording was choice,
i would read the entire story instead of losing interest after the first
few lines. let me know if you revise it.

A credible wish...standing against incredible odds. I hope your experience finds more of what you long for.

When I was 18, a newspaper article broke my heart. The boyfriend raped and split an infant open during the act. At that time, I chose not to subject myself to the constant barrage of the media's so called news worthy stories. Rarely, do I watch the news either. Usually only during a major world occurrence. My husband keeps me abreast on the daily news. It gives him something else to share with me. Nice write.

I agree. This has the most truth in it. I was thinking about this concept just a couple weeks ago and I'm totally on your side. this world is so corupt, whether it's violence or just language has gotten so obscene. I would know because I live in New York.... It pains me too, to see this life living in this world with pain. Keep writing things like this. It's Ah-mazing how you did this. Great job.... I give you 100

Wonderful thoughts in the end. I agree, I rarely watch the news for these very same reasons. I prefer to live in my own bubble I suppose at times. One reminder, you often use the word 'to' where it should be 'too'. A small change, easy to fix. The gist of your piece is quite loving and heartfelt. Thank you for sharing your talent.

I share your points completely.
It's hard to understand why some people act so crazy, thinking that biologically they are just like you. Perhaps, everyone uses violence because it's easier than to control your anger and try to understand the circumstances better.
Great write.
