I wake up,
I am blessed
for being alive.

I am blessed
for seeing another day.

I am blessed
with wonder and beauty.

As bright sun shines,
birds fly as happy as can be
as they eat from the bird feed.

Feeling wind blow through trees,
grass is so green and pretty.
Seeing the sky so blue,
I marvel at morning dew.

I am blessed
in all that's new to me.

I am blessed
Knowing I'm healthy.
Feeling my heart beat,
feels so wonderful to me.

At times when my heart may ache,
I'm thankful for each new day.

I am grateful
for my children, family and friends.

I thank the Lord
for their lives to
share another day
given to them and I.

Karen, this is a lovely sentimental piece, expressed with the humility of things which bring the subtle happiness to everyone's lives, if only they'd take the time to see them.
There are a few spelling issues, and I'd maybe space this out better, but overall it was a wonderfully soft write. Great job! And welcome to the Cafe. :)
