The Lonely

The Lonely

A Poem by P. Kapper
"

Realizing life when it's only you in the picture

"

Further down the hole I go

Where it ends, nobody knows

This crippling fear has taken over

Tired of feeling nothing on these cold shoulders

The loneliness is paralyzing

And every day I’m realizing

“Keep your chin up, keep on fighting”

But deep inside I’m slowly dying

My faith is broken, my hope is shattered

I’ve given up on everything that matters

I’ve broken hearts and shattered dreams

And now I see that I’m destroying me

I’ve lost more than I’ve ever won

And the best days of my life are done

As I limp into my golden years

Haunted by my darkest fears

Everything I never wanted to come true

Karma has a funny way of saying screw you!!
